Donna, TX – Two people, including a Border Patrol processing coordinator, were killed and one other person was seriously injured in a wrong-way traffic collision in Donna on Friday, November 1
The two victims have been identified as 47-year-old Cecillo Orozco III and 21-year-old Jose Martin Rodriguez-Lua of Brownsville- a Border Patrol processing coordinator.
The fiery two-vehicle accident happened at about 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1. on U.S. 281 Military Highway east of FM 493.
According to DPS, a Border Patrol van was traveling eastbound on U.S. 281 Military Highway east of FM 493 when it was hit head-on by a Ford F-150 pickup driven by Orozco III
Investigations revealed that Orozco was traveling westbound on the eastbound side of U.S. 281 Military Highway.

After colliding with the van, Orozco’s truck rolled over and burst into flames, DPS said, adding that Orozco III was burned beyond recognition.
The driver of the van, also a Border Patrol agent, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries and later released.
Rodriguez-Lua, who was a passenger in the van, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
