Ector County, TX – Two people were killed in a two-vehicle traffic collision in Ector County Tuesday evening, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The deadly accident happened at about 5 p.m. on November 12 near FM 3503 and Loop 338.
According to a Texas Department of Public Safety, Irek Gumerov, 26, of Houston was driving a Volkswagen Golf southbound on FM 3503 when he failed to yield the right of way at Loop 338 to a semi-tractor trailer heading eastbound on SE Loop 338.
Gumerov and his passenger, Kaelee Adams, 20, of Cypress, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. Both victims were wearing seat belts, DPS said in the report.
The other driver, identified only as an Abilene man, was also wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He was transported to Medical Center Hospital with minor injuries.
No additional information was provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
