Texas DPS said the accident happened at about 1:23 p.m. on November 26 on southbound State Highway 349.

Upton County, Texas — One person was killed and another hurt following a traffic collision involving a vehicle traveling the wrong way on State Highway 349 in Upton County on Tuesday, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
Texas DPS said the accident happened at about 1:23 p.m. on November 26 on southbound State Highway 349.
As per the DPS, 28-year-old Joel Garza was driving a 2020 Nissan Altima northbound on SH-349 in the outer southbound lane. At the same 60-year-old Ruben Rodriguez was driving a 2020 Western Star truck with a trailer southbound in the inner lane of the highway.
The two vehicles collided and the wrong-way driver, Garza, died and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rodriguez was taken to Rankin Hospital with minor injuries.
No additional information was provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
