The deadly accident happened at about 2 a.m. at 3600 South Loop 289 at Indiana Avenue.
Lubbock, TX – The Lubbock Police Department has identified the person who was killed after a car and a pickup truck collided on South Loop 289 early Wednesday morning as 38-year-old Leland Taylor.
According to LPD, Ricardo Ferreyra, 42, was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of South Loop 289 when he collided head-on with an eastbound vehicle in the 3600 block of South Loop 289 at Indiana Avenue.

As per the LPD, Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the pickup truck, identified as Kirstin Gallemore, 29, was transported to University Medical Center by EMS with moderate injuries.
Ferreyra was transported to Covenant Medical Center with serious injuries.

Lubbock, TX – One person was killed and two others were injured following an overnight two-vehicle traffic collision near an intersection in Lubbock.
The deadly accident happened at about 2 a.m. at 3600 South Loop 289 at Indiana Avenue.
According to the Lubbock Police Department, officers responded to reports of a vehicle driving recklessly in the area of South Loop 289 at Indiana Avenue.
Responding officers found two vehicles that had collided near the intersection.
LPD said one person was killed in the collision. The name of the victim was immediately released.
Two other people were transported to University Medical Center with moderate injuries.
Officers at the scene closed the eastbound lanes of South Loop 289 from Indiana Avenue to Slide Road and all eastbound traffic was diverted to Quaker Avenue exit.
The incident remains under investigation.
