DPS: Dustin Blalock Killed, Two Injured in Lufkin 3-Vehicle Accident on Highway 103

Angelina County, TX – The DPS has identified two drivers who were injured in a three-vehicle that claimed the life of one other person on Highway 103 on August 24.

According to the DPS, Mark Steinhardt, 26, of Temple was the driver of a Chevrolet Wrecker while Lisa Zela, 52, of Bronson, was operating a Toyota Highlander.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Dustin Blalock, 40, of Huntington, was driving a Honda Civic eastbound on Highway 103 when, for some reason, he drove into the westbound lane and collided with the oncoming Chevrolet Wrecker and then the Toyota Highlander.

Blalock sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Steinhardt was treated by EMS at the scene and released. Lisa Zela was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Angelina County, TX – One person was killed and two others were hurt following a three-vehicle collision in Angelina County Saturday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

DPS officials say the deadly accident happened at about 9:45 p.m. on August 24 on westbound Highway 103 east of Lufkin.

As per the DPS, a Honda Civic was traveling east on Highway 103 when, for some reason, it crossed over into the westbound lane and collided with an oncoming Chevrolet Wrecker and then a Toyota Highlander.

The driver of the Honda sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, DPS said. The driver of the Toyota was transported to a hospital in Lufkin with non-life-threatening injuries while the driver of the Chevrolet was treated at the scene by EMS.

The incident remains under investigation.
