Jones County, TX – One person was killed and another hospitalized following a head-on collision in Jones County Saturday, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The accident happened around 9:20 a.m. on August 10, on State Highway 92 about 4 miles southwest of Stamford.

Texas DPS officials said three vehicles were involved in the incident.

According to the Texas DPS, a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Ford truck, 34-year-old Cody Dixon of Wichita Falls, was traveling eastbound on SH 92 with a 2024 Volkswagen Taos SUV following closely behind.

At the same time, a 2016 Chevrolet truck, operated by 23-year-old Bladen Turnier of Fort Worth, was traveling westbound on the same highway. The driver of the Volkswagen SUV, identified as 21-year-old Madison Paige Stouard of Wichita Fallas, attempted to pass the 2006 Ford truck and collided head-on with the 2016 Chevrolet truck.

Emergency services responded to the scene and Madison Stouard was pronounced dead.

Bladen Turnier was transported to Hendrick North with non-life-threatening injuries in stable condition. Cody Dixon was treated on the scene.

No additional information was provided. The incident t remains under investigation.
