The deadly accident happened at about 2 a.m. at 3600 South Loop 289 at Indiana Avenue.

Lubbock, TX – One person was killed and two others were injured following an overnight two-vehicle traffic collision near an intersection in Lubbock.
The deadly accident happened at about 2 a.m. at 3600 South Loop 289 at Indiana Avenue.
According to the Lubbock Police Department, officers responded to reports of a vehicle driving recklessly in the area of South Loop 289 at Indiana Avenue.
Responding officers found two vehicles that had collided near the intersection.
LPD said one person was killed in the collision. The name of the victim was immediately released.
Two other people were transported to University Medical Center with moderate injuries.
Officers at the scene closed the eastbound lanes of South Loop 289 from Indiana Avenue to Slide Road and all eastbound traffic was diverted to Quaker Avenue exit.
The incident remains under investigation.
