At least six sixth-grade students who were inside the restaurant on a field trip were injured and were taken to the hospital for treatment

Mount Pleasant, TX. – Some Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill ISD students are injured after a vehicle crashed into a restaurant on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Mount Pleasant Police Department, the accident happened around 12:10 p.m. on the 600 block of South Jefferson Avenue.
Police say the 79-year-old driver of a Toyota 4-Runner may have backed into a pickup truck in unclear circumstances. The driver reacted and drove into Cici’s restaurant.
A vehicle reportedly wrecked into a CiCi’s Pizza restaurant in unclear circumstances.
At least six sixth-grade students who were inside the restaurant on a field trip were injured and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Four adults were also taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The SUV driver was unhurt.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
