The deadly collision happened at about 3:40 p.m. on April 26 at 16924 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59).

Houston, TX – A 67-year-old woman is dead and another person is injured following a Saturday afternoon traffic collision on Eastex Freeway in Houston, according to the Houston Police Department (HPD).
The deadly collision happened at about 3:40 p.m. on April 26 at 16924 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59).
According to HPS, a red Nissan Rogue was merging onto the main lanes of Highway 59 from the service road when it slammed into a northbound silver Acura TLX traveling.
The impact caused both drivers to lose control and crash into a ditch.
According to HPD, paramedics responded to the scene and transported both drivers to an area hospital.
Unfortunately, the doctors at the hospital pronounced the female driver of the Nissan dead.
The driver of the Acura was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
