Killeen, TX. – One person was injured in a collision involving a stolen vehicle on Friday afternoon in Killeen.
According to the Killeen Police Department, the accident happened around 1:19 p.m. at the intersection of Central Texas Expressway and Trimmer Road.
An 18-year-old man driving a stolen red Kia Sportage had stopped at a red light when he saw the police approaching and attempted to drive away.
As the Kia entered the intersection, it collided with a white Volkswagen Jetta traveling eastbound on Central Texas Expressway.
A pregnant female passenger of the Jetta suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Carl R. Darnell Army Medical Center.
The suspect attempted to run away but was detained by officers.
A third car was also involved in the accident, but no injuries were reported.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
