Clay County, TX – Brian Wayne Wilson, 54, of Petrolia has been identified as the man who died in a three-vehicle traffic collision on Highway 79, about 5 miles northeast of Dean on the afternoon of Monday, November 11.

According to Texas DPS, Brian Wilson was operating a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze and was stopped behind a 2012 Dodge Ram waiting for a school bus to finish unloading children when his vehicle was rear-ended by a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado.

The impact caused Wilson’s Chevrolet Cruze to rear-end the Dodge Ram. Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene

Clay County, TX – One person is dead following a chain reaction involving three vehicles in Clay County Monday afternoon, according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

The deadly rear-end collision happened at about 4:45 p.m. on November 11 on northbound Highway 79 near Dean.

According to Texas DPS, a school bus, which was not involved in the collision, was stopped and unloading students. A number of vehicles were also stopped behind the bus when a pickup truck rear-ended a passenger car which in turn rear-ended another vehicle.

DPS said an occupant of the passenger car sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

No additional information was provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
