Diana Salazar killed in collision on SH 349 near mile marker 342 in Midland County

Midland County, TX. – A woman was killed in a multi-vehicle collision that happened on Tuesday evening in Midland County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened around 7:30 p.m. on State Highway 349 near mile marker 342.
31-year-old Rocky Lopez, of Midland, was driving a Dodge Ram southbound on 349 at a high rate of speed and was attempting to pass a Dodge 2500 pulling a trailer.
Lopez sideswiped the trailer and veered into the northbound lanes where he collided with a Toyota Corolla operated by 35-year-old Diana Salazar, of Midland.

Salazar was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lopez was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
