Saurette admitted to consuming alcohol before the accident and was arrested

Hays County, TX. – One person was killed in a car accident on Tuesday morning near Kyle in Hays County.
According to the Kyle Police Department, the accident happened around 7:30 a.m. on southbound I-35 near Yarrington Road.
50-year-old Flavia Arzate Gomez, of Austin, had pulled over on the shoulder to fix a tarp on her vehicle when she was struck by a car driven by Gabriella Saurette, 21, of San Marcos.
Gomez was killed in the accident.
Saurette admitted to consuming alcohol before the accident and was arrested.
More details about the accident were not released.
The Kyle Police Department Crash Team is investigating the accident.
