Beaumont, TX — The person who died in a multi-vehicle collision that left several others injured on 10 Freeway in Beaumont has been identified as Gloria Garza, 62, of Corpus Christo, according to Beaumont police.

Police said the accident happened around 12:25 p.m. Sunday, March 9 on Interstate 10 Eastbound, just before Walden Road, adding that it involved five passenger vehicles and an 18-wheeler.

Gloria Garza was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband sustained serious injuries in the collision. Several other people were also hurt in the accident and were taken to various hospitals

I-10 Eastbound including the service roads were shut down and diverted traffic at Major Drive.

The roadway was reopened around 4:45 p.m. the same day.

The accident remains under investigation.

Beaumont, TX — One person is dead and several injured following a five-vehicle traffic collision on 10 Freeway in Beaumont, according to Beaumont police.

Police said the accident happened just before 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 9 on Interstate 10 Eastbound, just before Walden Road.

According to Beaumont police, one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several other people were hospitalized with various injuries.

I-10 Eastbound including the service roads were shut down and diverted traffic at Major Drive.

The roadway was reopened around 4:45 p.m. the same day.
