64-year-old Francis Gomez was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Lubbock, TX. – A 93-year-old woman has died several days after being injured in a car accident in Lubbock County.
The collision happened in the area of Olive Avenue and Slaton Highway at around 1 p.m. on January 27.
According to the Lubbock Police Department, Helen Thomas was a passenger in an SUV that collided with a pickup truck.
Thomas was transported to UMC, where she later died.
The SUV driver, 64-year-old Francis Gomez, was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries.
The driver of the pickup and a passenger both suffered minor injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
