Macayla Bartek, Lance Walker Killed in Head-On Crash on FM 439 in Bell County

Macayla Bartek and Lance Walker Killed in Bell County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 439 near FM 93

Bell County, Texas (September 26, 2023) – The two people who were killed early Monday morning in a head-on collision in Bell County have been identified as Macayla Meshell Bartek, 30, of Belton, and Lance Scott Jerome Walker, 46, also of Belton, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 4:15 a.m., September 25, on FM 439, about half a mile east of FM 93.

DPS said Bartek was driving a 1992 Chevrolet truck westbound on the highway while Walker was driving a 2020 Kia Optima eastbound.

One of the vehicles crossed over into the opposite lanes and crashed head-on into the other vehicle.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
