Mark Baucom was driving the Freightliner truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dallam County, TX. – Mark Baucom, 63, of Eldon, Missouri, was killed in a head-on collision on Monday evening near Stratford in Dallam County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the accident happened on US 54 at around 6:30 p.m.
A 2022 Freightliner truck tractor towing a semi-trailer was traveling northeast on US 54 when it veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a 2024 Volvo truck tractor towing a semi-trailer.
Baucom was driving the Freightliner truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
36-year-old Andrew Conley, of Parish, Alabama, was driving the second semi-truck and was flown to Amarillo Northwest Texas Hospital with serious injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
