Midland, TX – Three people were injured, two severely, following a high-speed two-vehicle traffic collision on State Highway 191 Wednesday night, according to the Midland Police Department.
The accident happened in the 12300 block of SH 191 at around 8:30 p.m. on April 2.
Police said a 2022 Ram 2500 and a second, unidentified vehicle, were traveling in the same direction on SH 191 when the second vehicle struck the back right side of the Ram at a high rate of speed.
Police said the impact pushed the Ram through a cable barrier and into the main lanes of the highway while the vehicle left the roadway and crashed through a barbed wire fence before coming to a stop in a nearby caliche lot.
The driver of the Ram, a 44-year-old man, was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 24-year-old man, sustained critical injuries and was listed in critical condition early Thursday morning. The passenger of the second vehicle, a 23-year-old man, suffered sustained life-threatening injuries.
No additional details were provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
