Austin, TX – One person is dead following a two-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 290 in Austin Wednesday evening, according to the Austin Police Department.
The deadly collision happened on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at approximately 6:03 p.m., in the 6800 block of E. US 290 Highway eastbound.
Austin Police Department said the driver of the first vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was hospitalized with minor injuries.
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 14th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 14 fatalities in Austin. The accident remains under investigation.
