Woman, 2 Teens Killed in Head-on Crash on I-20 in Martin County
Martin County, TX – Three people were killed in a head-on collision on the north service road of Interstate 20 in Martin County on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Authorities identified one of the victims as 42-year-old Debra Ramirez of Stanton, who was driving a Lincoln Corsair. A 14-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene alongside Ramirez, while a 16-year-old female passenger was transported to Martin County Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, near mile marker 153 on the north service road of Interstate 20.
According to the preliminary investigation, a Ford Explorer traveling eastbound on the I-20 north service road allegedly failed to yield at a stop sign and collided head-on with the Lincoln Corsair as it attempted to enter the Interstate 20 on-ramp.
The driver of the Ford Explorer and two passengers were transported to Midland Memorial Hospital with injuries. Their conditions have not been released.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
