Woman Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Interstate 35 in Austin

Woman Killed in Austin Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 35 near St. Edwards Drive

Austin, Texas (June 11, 2022) – A woman was killed in a motorcycle accident early Saturday morning in Austin, according to the Austin Police Department.

At about 2:23 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the 3000-3500 block of South Interstate 35 near St. Edwards Drive to investigate the report of a traffic collision.

Authorities arrived at the scene and determined that the woman, believed to be in her 20s, was riding her motorcycle southbound on Interstate 35 when, for an unknown reason, an 18-wheeler hit her.

The woman was thrown off the bike upon the impact and was hit by at least two other vehicles.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene at around 2:40 a.m. Her name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The drivers of the vehicles involved stopped at the scene to cooperate with the authorities.

The crash remains under investigation by the police.
