1 Killed, 1 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Martin Luther King Freeway in Fort Worth

Driver Killed, Another Injured in Fort Worth Collision on Martin Luther King Freeway near East Berry Street

Fort Worth, Texas (February 4, 2023) – A driver was killed and another was injured in a traffic crash late Thursday night in Fort Worth, according to the Fort Worth Police Department.

The deadly crash, which involved three vehicles, occurred just after 11:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, on the Martin Luther King Freeway near East Berry Street.

Fort Worth police said one vehicle was traveling northbound on the Martin Luther King Freeway when it developed a mechanical failure and stopped on the freeway.

Another driver stopped to help the vehicle get to the shoulder of the road. As they were pushing the vehicle off the road, a third vehicle traveling northbound on Martin Luther King struck the disabled vehicle.

The driver of the third vehicle was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle, who stopped to help, sustained injuries in the crash but was expected to survive.

Fort Worth Police Department is investigating the crash.
