Driver Killed in Richardson Train Accident at Buckingham Road Crossing near Spring Valley Station
Richardson, Texas (January 3, 2019) – One person was killed, and two others were injured Thursday morning in a traffic crash involving a car and DART Rail train in Richardson, according to a local news source.
The fatal crash occurred shortly before 6:00 a.m. at the Buckingham Road crossing, near the Spring Valley Station.
According to the authorities, the driver of a car went around the crossing arms and was struck by a northbound Red Line train.
The car driver was killed in the crash. The victim’s identity was not immediately disclosed.
A passenger in the car was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
One person on the train was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The crash closed the northbound and southbound DART Rail lines for an unknown period.
The crash remains under investigation.
