Barbara Allen Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on U.S Highway 80 in Harrison County

Barbara Allen ID’d as Woman Killed in Harrison County Crash on U.S Highway 80 near FM 968

Harrison County, Texas (October 24, 2022) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the woman who died in a traffic crash mid this month near Marshall as Barbara Allen, 65, of Hughes Springs.

The deadly crash happened at around 8:15 p.m. October 15 on U.S Highway 80, just west of FM 968.

DPS said Raymond DeSantos, 22, of Hallsville, was driving a Toyota 4-Runner westbound on U.S Highway 80 when he tried to pass another vehicle in a non-passing zone but instead rear-ended a Can-Am Ryker 3-wheel motorcycle.

Allen died at the scene.

On October 20, DeSantos was arrested and booked into the Harrison County Jail. He was charged with criminally negligent homicide and released on October 21 after posting $50,000 bail.
