51-Year-Old Ruben Ray Ybarra Killed in Santa Fe Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 6 near Avenue I

Santa Fe, Texas (February 8, 2020) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning in Santa Fe, according to the Santa Fe police.

The fatal crash happened around 5:30 a.m. February 7, on state Highway 6 near Avenue I.

Police said a Ford F-150 was traveling westbound on the highway when it struck a Toyota Scion, which was pulling southbound onto the highway from Avenue I.

The impact pushed both vehicles into a ditch.

The Scion driver, Ruben Ray Ybarra, 51, of Santa Fe, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers said Ybarra might not have stopped at a stop sign before pulling out onto the highway.

The Ford driver was uninjured in the crash.

The part of the highway where the crash happened was closed for several hours.

The police are investigating the crash.
