One Killed in Abilene Pedestrian Accident on Winters Freeway near 1st Street

Abilene, Texas (March 8, 2020) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday night in Abilene, a local news source reported.

The deadly accident happened on Friday, March 6, on the Winters Freeway near 1st Street.

Police said the person was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of the freeway when they were struck by a car.

The pedestrian was killed in the crash. The victim’s identity has not been released.

The crash closed a section of the freeway.

An investigation is underway.
