Conroe Woman Killed, 2 Injured in Montgomery County Crash on FM 1485 near Gene Campbell

Montgomery County, Texas (April 6, 2023) – A 34-year-old Conroe woman was killed and two other people were injured in a head-on collision on Wednesday night in Montgomery County, according to a local news source.

The deadly crash happened just before 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, on FM 1485 near Gene Campbell.

As per the local news report, the 34-year-old Conroe woman was driving on FM 1485 at a high rate of speed when her Toyota Corolla clipped the rear bumper of a Jeep.

The impact pushed the Toyota into the lane of oncoming traffic at an angle and then began to overturn. A Ford F-150 struck the passenger side and roof of the Toyota, ripping the vehicle open.

The driver of the Toyota was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

The driver and a passenger in the Ford F-150 were trapped inside the vehicle and were extricated by emergency responders. The driver was transported to Kingwood in critical condition, while the female passenger was also transported to the same hospital in unknown condition.

Three occupants of the Jeep, a woman and her two children, were not injured.

Authorities closed FM 1485 for nearly three hours during the investigation.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
