Driver Hospitalized after Truck Crash on Interstate 35 in Bruceville-Eddy

Driver Injured in Bruceville-Eddy Truck Accident on Interstate 35
Bruceville-Eddy, Texas (January 9, 2019) – A driver was hospitalized Wednesday morning following a traffic accident in Bruceville-Eddy, police said.
At about 5:20 a.m. officers received a report regarding a crash involving several vehicles on Interstate 35 near mile marker 317.
Authorities responded to the scene, and they found a semi-trailer fully engulfed in flames. The semi-trailer driver was taken to the Hillcrest Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in unknown condition.
Police said the semi-trailer hauling avocados was heading northbound on Interstate 35 when for an unknown reason it slammed into a parked dump truck, which was blocking a concrete barrier.
The crash caused the closure of the interstate flowing northbound and the 319 off-ramps as emergency crews worked to clear the scene of the accident. The left lane was opened to allow for motorists to pass through the area.
Authorities are investigating the crash.
