Israel Perez Junior Killed in San Patricio County Pedestrian Accident on I-37

San Patricio County, Texas (January 20, 2021) – A man was fatally hit by a vehicle Friday night in San Patricio County, a mile north of Corpus Christi, according to troopers.

The deadly accident happened around 9:00 p.m., January 15, on Interstate 37.

Troopers said Israel Perez Junior, 30, of Robstown, was driving when he struck a guardrail along the northbound lane of the interstate.

Junior then got out of his car and walked into an unlit area of the interstate where he was struck by a Chevy Tahoe.

Junior was taken to Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi where he later died.

No further details regarding the crash were provided.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
