Joshua Duncan Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on US 62 in Gaines County

Joshua Duncan Killed in Gaines County Two-Vehicle Crash on US Highway 62

Gaines County, Texas (January 4, 2023) – A man was killed on December 22 in a two-vehicle crash in Gaines County, east of Hobbs, New Mexico, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The fatal crash happened around 7:00 a.m., on US Highway 62.

DPS said Joshua Duncan, 37, of Casper, Wyoming, was driving westbound on the highway while Ismael Barreras, 20, of Midland, was driving behind him.

Barreras failed to control his speed and rear-ended Duncan.

Duncan was taken to University Medical Center, where he later died.

Barreras was uninjured in the crash.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts, and the conditions were dry and clear.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
