Juan Palacios ID’d as Man Killed in Austin Auto-Pedestrian Crash on Burleson Road

Austin, Texas (January 31, 2020) – The man who was killed in a pedestrian accident two weeks ago in southeast Austin has been identified as Juan Palacios,55, according to the police.

The accident took place at about 11:00 p.m. on January 18, in the 4700 block of Burleson Road.

Police said Palacios and another pedestrian were crossing the street, in the dark and outside a crosswalk, when he was hit by a 2005 Ford pickup truck.

Palacios was rushed to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center with critical, life-threatening injuries where he died eight days later.

The Ford driver stayed at the scene after the accident.

The police are investigating the crash.
