Man Hit, Killed by Freight Train near South Presa in San Antonio

Pedestrian Killed in San Antonio Train Accident near South Presa

San Antonio, Texas (September 11, 2019) – A man was fatally hit by a Union Pacific freight train Tuesday afternoon in San Antonio, according to a local news source.

The accident occurred on Tuesday, September 10, near South Presa.

According to police, the train engineer said he saw the man walking on the tracks, and sounded the horn repeatedly to warn him.

The man waved to acknowledge him, but continued walking on the tracks, the engineer said.

The man then attempted to jump off the tracks but was hit by the train, knocking him for about 30 feet.

The victim was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed.

An investigation is underway.
