Roger King and Wendy Caban Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 349 in Midland

Roger King and Wendy Caban ID’d as 2 Lamesa Residents Killed in Midland Car Crash on State Highway 349
Midland, Texas (February 6, 2019) – The two people from Lamesa who were killed Sunday afternoon in a traffic accident near Midland has been identified as Roger L. King, 58, and Wendy L. Caban, 53, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The tragic crash happened at an unspecified time Sunday, February 3 on State Highway 349, approximately 18 miles north of Midland.
The DPS said a Chevrolet Silverado driven by King, was traveling northbound on State Highway 349 behind a Cub Cadet truck tractor pulling a semi-trailer. The driver of the truck tractor, a 31-year-old Odessa man, activated the hazard lights and pulled over because an emergency car was blocking the roadway.
According to the DPS, King failed to control his speed and rear-ended the truck tractor.
King and his passenger, Caban, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck tractor was unhurt in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
