1 Dead, 1 Hurt in 3-Vehicle Crash at Pineloch Drive and Galveston Road in Clear Lake

1 Killed and 1 Injured in Clear Lake Car Accident at Pineloch Drive and Galveston Road
Clear Lake, Texas (March 1, 2019) – One person was killed and another was injured early Friday morning in a three-vehicle collision in southeast Houston, according to a local news source.
The fatal crash occurred at about 1:00 a.m. near Pineloch Drive and Galveston Road.
Police said a gray Dodge truck was traveling northbound on Galveston Road when he crashed into a gray Dodge sedan with an Uber sticker on it. A pickup truck then slammed into both vehicles.
The passenger of the sedan, who was in the backseat, was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the sedan was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Authorities said that driver was taking a rideshare passenger.
Both the driver of the pickup truck and the Dodge truck were evaluated for intoxication. One driver told investigators that he was taking several shots of tequila at a nearby bar, Bombshells.
The Dodge truck driver will be charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault. The driver of the pickup truck will be charged with driving under the influence. Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were expected to be OK.
As authorities were investigating, a fourth vehicle drove through a police barricade and struck a patrol unit. No officers were hurt in the crash and that driver was also evaluated for intoxication.
