Man Dies, 4 Injured in Leon Valley Crash on Grissom Road

Leon Valley, Texas (June 22, 2019) – A man was killed and four other people were injured Friday morning after a police chase ended in a traffic accident in Leon Valley, authorities said.

The deadly accident happened on Grissom Road on Friday, June 21.

According to a local news source, police officers were notified that a car was stolen from a Leon Valley home.

When officers spotted the car and tried to stop it near the intersection of Bandera and Grissom roads, the suspect sped off.

The suspect crashed into the rear of a couple’s vehicle that was waiting to turn left onto Old Grissom Road, which caused a chain reaction crash. The stolen vehicle then drifted off and collided head-on with another vehicle.

The man believed to be in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene and his wife sustained critical injuries. The suspect and two other people were transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries.

Authorities said the suspected is facing several felony charges.

The names of the deceased victim and injured parties have not yet been disclosed.

The crash remains under investigation.
