1 Killed in 3-Vehicle Crash on Highway 287 in Mansfield

One Person Killed in Mansfield Crash on Highway 287 near Turner Warnell

Mansfield, Texas (May 21, 2022) – One person was killed in a three-vehicle collision in Mansfield late Thursday afternoon, according to the Mansfield Police Department.

The deadly crash happened at around 4:54 p.m. Thursday, May 19, on Highway 287 near Turner Warnell.

Police said a passenger car crashed into the back of an SUV in the northbound lane of the highway. Due to the impact, the SUV spun out of control and struck another SUV. All three vehicles sustained major damage in the crash.

Mansfield paramedics responded to the crash and declared one person in the passenger vehicle dead at the scene. No one else was seriously injured.

The name of the deceased person has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

Police blocked all northbound lanes of Highway 287 as they investigated the crash.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
