2 Killed in Fiery Train Crash on Beaumont Highway in NE Harris County

Man and Woman Killed in NE Harris County Fiery Train Crash on Beaumont Highway at Van Hut Lane

Harris County, Texas (April 17, 2022) – Two people were killed Saturday night in a fiery train crash in northeast Harris County, according to the deputies.

The deadly crash happened around 8:00 p.m., April 16, in the 12900 block of Beaumont Highway at Van Hut Lane.

Deputies said an Amtrak train 1 was traveling from New Orleans to Los Angeles when a Chrysler 300 went around a vehicle at the train track with arms down and collided with the train.

The Chrysler caught fire.

A man and a woman were ejected from the Chrysler and were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been released.

No injuries were reported on the train.

The deputies are investigating the crash.
