Seven Injured in Lufkin Five-Vehicle Crash on South Loop 287 at John Reddit Drive

Lufkin, Texas (January 31, 2022) – Seven people were injured Monday morning in a five-vehicle crash in Lufkin, according to the authorities.

The crash occurred on South Loop 287 and John Reddit Drive near Copeland.

Authorities said it appears the driver of an 18-wheeler had some type of medical emergency and crashed into four other vehicles.

Seven people were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Three of the victims were kids.

The crash closed the northbound lanes at Copeland. Motorists were urged to take Hank Street as an alternate route.

An investigation is underway.
