Anthony McGruder Killed in Rear-End Collision on Interstate 35 in Austin

Anthony McGruder ID’d as Man Killed in Austin Crash on Interstate 35 near Wells Branch Parkway

Austin, Texas (August 1, 2022) –The man who died on Friday morning in a traffic collision involving a big rig in North Austin has been identified as Anthony McGruder, 46.

The fatal wreck occurred at about 4:55 a.m. Friday, July 29, in the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 near the Wells Branch Parkway intersection.

McGruder was driving his vehicle northbound on Interstate 35 when he rear-ended an 18-wheeler.

McGruder was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the 18-wheeler stopped at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
