Antonio Martinez ID’d as Man Killed in Midland Crash at County Road 54 and FM 1788

Midland, Texas (August 28, 2023) – The man who died following a two-vehicle collision on Saturday in Midland has been identified as Antonio Rogelio Martinez, 24, of Laredo.

The deadly crash took place at the intersection of County Road 54 and FM 1788 on August 26.

Martinez was driving a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta westbound on County Road 54 when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of County Road 54 and FM 1788 and collided with a 2018 Chevrolet 3500, driven by Arnulfo Gonzalez, 48, who was traveling northbound FM 1788.

Martinez died in the crash. Gonzalez was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

No further details about the crash were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
