Bicyclist Hit, Killed by RV on US 96 in Buna

21-Year-Old Man Killed in Buna Bicycle Accident on US 96

Buna, Texas (June 10, 2020) – A 21-year-old male bicyclist was fatally hit by an RV Tuesday afternoon in Buna, according to troopers.

The accident occurred at about 3:30 p.m., June 9, on US 96.

DPS said a 2000 Motorhome RV was traveling southbound on the highway while the bicyclist was riding northbound on the southbound shoulder of the highway.

The bicyclist, for unknown reasons, rode into the path of the motorhome and was struck by the RV.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The RV driver was uninjured in the crash.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
