Samuel Laurence Identified as Driver Killed in Austin Crash on Highway 290

Austin, Texas (May 2, 2019) – The authorities have identified the man who died in a multi-car crash Tuesday morning in West Austin.
Samuel Joseph Laurence, 31, of Driftwood, died in the incident that took place at about 7 a.m. Tuesday,  April 30, in the 11100 block of U.S. Highway 290.
Authorities said multiple cars were involved in the pile-up. The events leading up to the collision were unrevealed.
Laurence was riding in one of the involved vehicles and was pronounced dead at the site of the collision.
There were three other patients taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. One of them was reportedly in critical condition.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
