Juan Chavez Killed in El Paso Three-Vehicle Crash on Sean Haggerty Drive at Gateway North

El Paso, Texas (January 19, 2022) – A Chaparral man was killed Sunday night in a three-vehicle crash in northeast El Paso, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 9:00 p.m., January 16, at the intersection of Sean Haggerty Drive and Gateway North.

Police said a 34-year-old man was driving a Tesla eastbound when he collided with a vehicle that was traveling northbound on Gateway North. The impact caused the man to hit another vehicle at the intersection.

The crash resulted in a fire.

The driver of the northbound vehicle, Juan Fabian Chavez, 42, was taken to University Medical Center, where he later died. 

No other details regarding the crash were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
