Brenda Belmotes Killed in McAllen Pedestrian Accident on South 15th Street

Police Identify Woman Killed in Pedestrian Crash on South 15th Street in McAllen as Brenda Belmotes

McAllen, Texas (May 31, 2022) – Police have identified the woman who died after being struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning in downtown McAllen as Brenda Belmotes, 43.

At around 2:35 a.m. Sunday, May 29, authorities responded to the 500 block of South 15th Street to investigate the report of an auto-pedestrian crash.

Belmotes was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the involved vehicle, Sorely Lizeth Niño, 19, of Mission, was booked into jail and had pending charges.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
