Celina Coria Killed in El Paso Pedestrian Accident on Shadow Mountain Drive

Celina Coria ID’d as Woman Hit, Killed by Vehicle on Shadow Mountain Drive and North Mesa Street in El Paso

El Paso, Texas (May 17, 2022) – Police have identified the woman who died after being struck by a vehicle Monday night in west El Paso as Celina Coria, 37.

According to the police, the accident happened around 9:41 p.m., on May 16, in the 135 block of Shadow Mountain Drive and North Mesa Street.

Police said Coria was walking with her adult son across Shadow Mountain from north to south.

Coria’s son had dropped his cellphone on the road and Coria returned to the traffic lane to pick up the cellphone. Coria was then hit by a 2001 GMC Sierra that was traveling westbound on Shadow Mountain.

Coria was transported to University Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The GMC driver was identified as 22-year-old Jesus Gomez.

No additional information was available.

The police are investigating the crash.
