Charles Chandler Killed in Nacogdoches County Pedestrian Accident on State Highway 7

Nacogdoches County, Texas (May 2, 2021) – A man was killed early Saturday morning in a hit-and-run crash in Nacogdoches County, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident occurred around 1:25 a.m., May 1, on State Highway 7, two miles east of Nacogdoches.

DPS said Charles Chandler, 60, of Center, was struck by a vehicle in the westbound lanes of the highway.

The driver fled the scene after the accident.

Chandler was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle was described as an older model Cadillac or a Buick passenger car.

An investigation is underway. Anyone with any information about the crash is asked to call the local law enforcement or Lufkin DPS Communications at (936) – 699-7340.
