Christopher Ladale Young Killed and Cori Leann Davis Injured in Smith County Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 20
Smith County, Texas (January 31, 2021) – One person was killed and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday night in Smith County, about six miles northeast of Tyler, according to the DPS.
The fatal crash happened around 9:46 p.m., January 29, on Interstate 20.
According to a preliminary investigation, an SUV was traveling eastbound on the interstate at a low speed with its hazard light on because of a vehicle malfunction.
Reynaldo Rafael Aparicio, 38, of Kissimmee, Florida, was driving a truck-tractor towing a semi-trailer eastbound when he failed to control his speed and struck the SUV.
The SUV driver, Christopher Ladale Young, 42, of Henderson, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the SUV, Cori Leann Davis, 43, of Henderson, was taken to Tyler medical center in stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
