Daniel Martinez Killed in San Antonio Two-Vehicle Crash on South Hackberry Street
San Antonio, Texas (June 19, 2020) – The 17-year-old driver who was killed Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash in San Antonio has been identified as Daniel Martinez, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The crash occurred just after 6:00 p.m. on June 17, in the 900 block of South Hackberry Street, near Indiana Street.
Police said Martinez was driving a white Scion southbound at a high rate of speed when he crashed into a gray Chevy SUV that was turning into a business parking lot on Indiana Street.
Martinez was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center, where he later died. His front-seat passenger, a 14-year-old boy, was taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Both were not wearing seatbelts.
The Chevy driver, a 27-year-old woman, and her 1-year-old child were taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The authorities are investigating the crash.
