Darrell Bergeron ID’d as Pedestrian Killed in Buena Vista Street Hit-and-Run Crash near South Colorado and Smith

San Antonio, Texas (December 29, 2022) – The man who was killed after he was struck by a truck on Monday evening in San Antonio has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Darrell Bergeron died in the crash that happened at about 7:17 p.m. Monday, December 26, on Buena Vista Street near South Colorado and Smith.

Witnesses told the authorities that Bergeron, 60, was walking northbound on Smith when he was hit by an eastbound silver pick-up truck whose driver fled the scene.

Bergeron died in the crash.

Police are searching for the hit-and-run driver.

No further details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
