Devany Betancourt Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on U.S 175 in Anderson County

Devany Betancourt ID’d as Teenager Killed in Anderson County Crash on U.S Highway 175 at ACR 3051

Anderson County, Texas (December 1, 2022) – The teenager who died on Tuesday night following a two-car accident east of Frankston in Anderson County has been identified as 18-year-old Devany Betancourt of Frankston.

The fatal crash happened at about 10:11 p.m. Tuesday, November 29 on U.S Highway 175 at ACR 3051.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2010 Ford Fusion, driven by 18-year-old Alex Garcia of Frankston, was traveling eastbound on U.S Highway 175 when he attempted to make a left turn on ACR 3051.

Garcia reportedly failed to yield the right-of-way while he was turning. A 2007 Subaru Tribeca heading westbound on U.S Highway 175 slammed into the Ford’s passenger side.

Betancourt who was riding as a passenger in the Ford died in the crash.

A passenger in the Subaru, Anna Lorena, 20, of Grand Prairie, was transported to a nearby hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

The driver of the Subaru was identified as Omar Perez, 22, also of Grand Prairie.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
